Mental Health
The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services administers services and supports to all individuals with serious mental illness and/or addictive disease and every child or youth who has serious emotional disturbance or who abuses substances. Initiatives and recovery information is available at www.parecovery.org. County programs oversee local behavioral health services and supports.
Mental Retardation
The Office of Developmental Programs, formerly The Office of Mental Retardation, administers services and supports for individuals with mental retardation and autism. Counties administer the program at the local level. Early Intervention
The Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) is the state office that oversees Early Intervention services. The Early Intervention program provides support and services to families with children birth to age 5 with developmental delays. County programs administer the program for children birth to age 3 while local schools assist with children ages 3 to 5.
